Anatomy of Change
We all want to make changes in our life. Everyone wants and dreams of a bigger, better home, an expensive car, exotic travel and most importantly more time with family and friends. Change means taking risks. Before taking a chance or risk we all evaluate, procrastinate, re-evaluate and then sometimes put off that lifestyle changing event forever. We do this because we’re comfortable and change can and often does involve the unknown.
My challenge for everyone is to look deep inside your heart and realize that everyone is capable of great success. Success requires goals, tenacity, patience, knowledge and the courage to see what your true values are and what you are capable of accomplishing in order to create a better life for you and your family.
An obscure over 100 year old quote I recently came across by C.V. White summarizes best the character of anyone who strives to take a chance or make a difference by undertaking a venture which most greet with skepticism.
“The man who makes a success of an important venture never wails for the crowd. He strikes out for himself. It takes nerve, it takes a great lot of grit; but the man that succeeds has both. Anyone can fail. The public admires the man who has enough confidence in himself to take a chance. These chances are the main things after all. The man who tries to succeed must expect to be criticized. Nothing important was ever done but the greater number consulted previously doubted the possibility. Success is the accomplishment of that which most people think can’t be done.”
As you review this website I hope you will see that anyone and everyone is capable of success. I left my comfort zone at 56 years of age and 30 years in the same occupation and challenged myself to create a better life for my family. Never again is anyone else going to control my future.
I’m big on quotes, so I leave you with this last thought a quote by George Eliot,
“It’s never too late too be what you might have been.”
